I often hear people say that the design field isn’t essential, that there’s no space for designers to grow in finance or society. But let’s pause for a moment and think about this.
If design didn’t matter, what do we make of Allah Almighty, who intricately created everything—from tiny honeycombs to the vast sky? He could have made our world black and white, yet He filled it with vibrant colors and diverse tones. Why? Because there’s beauty and intention in every detail. Look at the sky, the hues of the ocean, and even the variety of pebbles—there’s a purpose behind every element.
Some might say that beyond the basics of food, clothing, and housing, engineers and architects are the ones who build society. But let me ask: what about the sky? Why did Allah create it with so many shades? Was it so hard to make everything one color? Absolutely not! We can’t imagine a world without the proper balance of colors. If colors were thrown together without thought, our world would be a chaotic mess. Just take a look around you and think about everything that exists without the influence of a designer.
As a print designer, I believe it's my duty to extract inspiration from this beautifully crafted world. Why shouldn’t we create patterns that reflect the intricate designs of nature? Just like Allah planned the world with intention, we should approach our work with the same mindset.
Let’s challenge the idea that designers are unnecessary. The world thrives on design, and we can’t overlook its vital role in shaping our experiences.
